African American Youth Resource Center

The African American Youth Harvest Resource Center (AAYRC) is the flagship of our organization. AAYRC provides meeting spaces to all community and auxiliary groups at no cost. Most of our wraparound services are also facilitated out of this convenient space. Whether there is a need for counseling services by licensed professionals, drug education classes, or youth substance abuse prevention; we have you covered.

SHIFT Ascension

SHIFT Ascension is campus based alternative to suspension program. SHIFT Ascension focuses on reducing the amount students that have been repeat offenders since elementary, reducing truancy rates, and improving the quality of life for students who may otherwise be approaching severe infractions that will place them in the pipeline to a juvenile detention facility.

Krew12 | After-School Enrichment Program

The Krew12 program was designed as a mentoring, tutoring, & multi-media development program. Youth engage in project-based learning experiences designed to incorporate various media-disciplines including social media, design, photography, film, television and radio. Youth are then challenged to use these skills to produce a variety of media products, serve the community and use entrepreneurship training to earn financial compensation.

JJMI Mentoring

Juvenile Justice Mentoring Initiative (JJMI) works with Travis County Juvenile Courts and Gardner Betts Juvenile Detention Center to provide group and one-on-one mentoring opportunities. This comprehensive mentor relationship between caring adults and youth that are currently incarcerated or on probation is important for youth that are attempting to reintegrate into society.

BEACON Workforce Development
BEACON Workforce Development helps both youth and adults find employment through employer partnerships that AAYHF have established with local employers. This innovative approach seeks to boost the economy by reducing the unemployment rate and equip our clients with jobs at a livable wage. In order to consistently supply our employment partners with personnel that will retain employment and be a cultural fit for their companies; BEACON staff provides career assessment, case management, and soft skills training before entering the workplace. BEACON takes a step further to combat barriers to success for our clients by providing free bus passes for those without reliable transportation and a host of other resources to ensure they achieve their goals.

Dell Computer Lab

Our Dell Computer Lab seeks to eliminate the digital divide amongst certain age groups, minority populations, lack of access, and learning barriers. In addition, we offer STEM & STEAM opportunities that are a direct byproduct of the computer lab: Robotics & Sugar CODER’s- Beginner level STEAM program that provides computer science education to young girls of color.

Harvest Foundation Scholarship Fund

Designed to foster academic achievement in higher education and cultivate interest. We encourage AAYHF students to close the pipeline to prison and start the process of cradle to college. Funds donated to this scholarship fund are awarded yearly to high school graduating seniors with higher education aspirations as a means for self-sufficiency.
